Springfield 1-1 Old Southendian
Old Southendian remains at the bottom of the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division table despite earning a share of the spoils from a hard-fought encounter with Springfield at Hall Park.
Old Boys stopper Pete Loveday got his gloves to David Knight’s dead-ball effort but was unable to keep it out. Nevertheless, the Seasiders kept the ball well and were creative in the final third during a competitive opening period.
Springfield dominated after the interval. However, having failed to build on their advantage, they were punished in the final stages when Lewis Caplin finished a free-flowing move to level the score.
“I’m pleased with our overall performance against a strong Springfield side,” Old Boys boss, Connor Lane told Yellow Sport.
“I’m happy with the point. We are set up nicely for next week’s clash with Kelvedon Hatch.”
