Old Southendian & Southchurch 2nds were held to a Second XI Division Three draw after their Ardleigh Green & Havering-Atte-Bower counterparts dug in at Garon Park.

The home side posted a competitive 218 with Waj Ahmed and Isaac Burgess each scoring 39, while Harry Doyle returned figures of five for 44 from ten overs for the visitors.

Sam Hodgson took three for 60, while Henry Williams and Shahid Hussain took two wickets apiece. However, Ardleigh Green displayed resolve to ensure a share of the points.

Old Southendian & Southchurch’s 4th team suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of their Hadleigh & Thundersley counterparts. Toby Spreadborough top scored for the winners with 40, while Zak Impey returned figures of three for 25 for the Old Boys.

It proved to be another tough day at the office for Old Southendian & Southchurch 5ths, who remain rooted to the bottom of the Fourth XI Division One East table following a sizable 83-run defeat against Benfleet 4ths.

Lee Wheeler took five for 24 for the winning side, while Nick Haslett provided the only Old Boys innings of note, scoring 40 off 97 balls.
