Shenfield AFC 3-0 Old Southendian

OLD SOUTHENDIAN’S Prokit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division survival assault took a hit as fellow early-season strugglers, Shenfield AFC took the points at Hanging Hill Lane.

Goals from Samuel Lock, Perry Robinson and substitute Liam Snellin helped the hosts climb into a midtable position while anchoring the Old Boys amongst the relegation places.

“It was a frustrating performance,” Seasiders boss, Connor Lane, told Yellow Sport.

“We were disappointing defensively and couldn’t take the chances we created.

“We’ve conceded a sloppy set piece and two counter-attacks at the end of the game whilst pressing ourselves.”

Lane added: “It’s disappointing to have come away with nothing. I don’t think the scoreline reflected the game, which was an even contest. But fair play to Shenfield, who took their chances while we could not.”
