Old Southendian Ladies Hockey first XI were amongst the goals, thrashing East London 6th XI by seven goals to one.
After taking the lead in less than 30 seconds through Sami Da Costa – the player went on to score four more in a one-sided contest.
Nevertheless, East London didn’t give up, scoring a good goal of their own. Amy Elvidge and Sarah Carter completed the scoring for Old Southendian.
The Old Girls second string beat their Witham counterparts comfortably by four goals to one with a positive display of disciplined, controlled hockey.
Chloe Foster bagged the Seasiders first and last goals, while Maddie Parker bagged a brace on her debut. Skipper, Ros Jackson, explained: “I asked for discipline and shape and the girls delivered. I am a very happy Captain”.
The Old Girls third team played out a tight battle with Chelmsford 7th XI, going down 3-2. The girls fought hard and displayed some excellent development in the game and have earned themselves a well-deserved rest week.
