Old Southendian continue to flourish

AMBITIOUS OLD SOUTHENDIAN have announced a further expansion of the club ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Recently, the Old Boys moved into their new impressive 3g purpose-built ground at Garon Park. Now, the club will add a Sunday League side as well as a youth section to run alongside teams already competing in the ProKit UK Essex Olympian, Southend Borough & District and Southend & District Veterans Leagues.

Several youth teams will play under the Old Southendian YFC after the Southendian Manor Youth club – who have used Garon Park since 2014 – agreed to forge a link. The adult and junior sections will be run separately. However, the affiliation will give the youngsters a proper pathway into men’s football and give the men’s club a great link with a top youth football set up to ensure a flow of players into the future.

Old Boys chairman, Nick Robins, told Yellow Sport: “I’m really pleased to announce this new set up and welcome the players, managers and committee of Old Southendian YFC to the Old Boys fold.”
