On to the next one for Jose and Spurs

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – Selhurst Park – Sunday 2:15pm

Having secured the Premier League’s Barclays Manager of the Month for November, Jose Mourinho will set to work on ensuring his Tottenham Hotspur side remain top of the tree come Christmas.

Three wins and a draw saw the Lilywhites boss claim the accolade. However, they now face a tough examination of their credentials against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side – themselves fresh from a 5-1 thrashing of West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

Mourinho has rotated his squad successfully to oversee progress, not only in the Premier League, but in the Europa and Carabao Cup competitions, but with Europe now on the backburner until February, the Spurs boss will undoubtedly utilise where possible over the busy festive period.

“So many matches. Do we need to make rotations? Of course, we need to,” the former Real Madrid chief explained.

“It is impossible for a player to play all these matches in a short period of time. Of course, we need to do it and we have to do it, but at the same time there are players that are really unique and with some unique players, in spite of the fact that, the squad is very good we have to try to give them the most minutes possible because they can make a difference.”

On Palace, Mourinho added: “We know them very well. We know how difficult it was for us to get a point there to qualify for the Europa League in the last match of the season and for sure Sunday they are going to try to win as they always do.”
