Orient make their point at Salford

Salford City v Leyton Orient – Sky Bet League Two – Peninsula Stadium – Summary

Salford City 1-1 Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient returned from the North-West with a hard-earned share of the Sky Bet League Two spoils against much-fancied Salford City at the Peninsula Stadium.

The O’s enjoyed plenty of the ball and created several decent opportunities throughout the ninety minutes.

Omar Beckles reacted the quickest to hand Orient the lead shortly after the half-hour mark. However, Matty Willock restored parity with a stunning strike from distance seven minutes later as the home side turned the screw.

O’s goalkeeper, Lawrence Vigouroux produced several decent saves, notably denying Conor McAleny and Brandon Thomas-Asante, while the latter was left frustrated by an assistants’ flag as the East Londoners held on.

Leyton Orient now turns their attention to the Carabao Cup where they will face Queen’s Park Rangers at the Breyer Group Stadium on Wednesday, August 11 (7:45pm).
