O’s beaten in Dundee friendly

Dundee 3-0 Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient found themselves on the wrong end of the result at Dens Park, but ultimately gave twenty of their squad valuable match practice ahead of the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two campaign.

Newly-promoted Dundee took an early lead when Paul McGowan profited from Alex Jakubiak’s toil before curling home from just outside the box.

Jakubiak prodded home immediately after the interval to double the Scottish sides’ lead, then Lee Ashcroft added a third shortly after to confirm the hosts’ superiority.

Paul Smyth provided the O’s best moment – sending the first-half attempt the wrong side of an upright.

The O’s return to pre-season action on Tuesday, July 13 when a West Ham United XI visit the Breyer Group Stadium (7pm)
