Leyton Orient have bolstered their backline with the signing of highly-rated West Ham United defender, Olatunji Akinola.
The 21-year-old arrives at the Breyer Group Stadium on a season-long loan deal, having featured for the Hammers first team in their pre-season friendly at Wycombe Wanderers.
Speaking to www.leytonorient.con, Akinola said: “I’m a defender first and foremost, I like to make tackles and blocks, and get clean sheets – it’s what I pride myself on.”
“I feel like this is the perfect opportunity for me to kick on to the next level.”
Meanwhile, O’s chief, Ross Embleton, added: “As far as I’m concerned, he is a big part of the squad but like any player, he will have to play his way into the team, so we will see how the week pans out in regard to the weekend.”
