O’s held at Harrogate

Harrogate Town 2-2 Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient were twice pegged back as host’s Harrogate Town earned a share of the Sky Bet League Two spoils at the EnviroVent Stadium.

Orient headed north with their lingering play-off hopes hanging by a threat. Nevertheless, the East Londoners were handed a boost when Conor Wilkinson’s effort from distance eluded Harrogate stopper, James Belshaw, immediately after the interval.

Dan Jones headed the home side back on terms, but Orient reestablished their earlier advantage when leading marksman, Danny Johnson seized on some poor defending from Jones before beating Belsham from close range.

Harrogate passed up a glorious opportunity to restore parity. Jack Muldoon was fouled by Daniel Happe – O’s keeper, Lawrence Vigouroux saving Muldoon’s resulting spot-kick.

But the home side – already without a win in six matches – were to snatch a point. Josh McPake profited from Connor Hall’s toil to level fourteen minutes from time.

The O’s sit in eleventh place, four points outside the play-off places. They return to Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday, April 17 when Barrow visit the Breyer Group Stadium (12:30pm).
