O’s match off due to COVID cases

Leyton Orient’s Carabao Cup third-round tie with Tottenham Hotspur scheduled for this evening has been postponed due to a number of the O’s players returning positive COVID-19 tests.

The match was due to be played at Orient’s Breyer Group Stadium ground.

A statement posted by the club on www.leytonorient.com explained;

Discussions are ongoing between the relevant stakeholders in regards to the implications of the fixture not taking place tonight and a further update will be provided in due course.

Leyton Orient, the EFL and the relevant authorities are conducting a thorough review of the club’s Covid-19 secure procedures with the view to reopening the stadium and training ground as soon as possible.

As yet, it is unclear whether Orient’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Walsall at the Bescot Stadium on Saturday will be similarly affected.
