Leyton Orient 2-4 Cambridge United
Leyton Orient’s Sky Bet League Two play-off hopes went up in smoke as Cambridge United roared back to the top of the table with a stylish performance at the Breyer Group Stadium.
Joe Ironside fired Cambridge ahead. However, Dan Kemp restored parity in first-half stoppage time to give the O’s hope.
But Cambridge always appeared to be in control. Shilow Tracey nodded the visitors back in front, then leading marksman, Paul Mullin netted from the spot – his 29th goal of the season – after Greg Taylor had been fouled by Jamie Turley.
Conor Wilkinson headed home eighteen minutes from time to set up an exciting finale. But title-chasing Cambridge secured the victory – Ironside again on target, taking his haul for the campaign to fourteen.
Leyton Orient return to Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday, April 24 when they take on Southend United at Roots Hall Stadium (3pm).
