Sky Bet League Two outfit, Leyton Orient, has confirmed that promising young goalkeeper, Rhys Byrne, has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
The 19-year-old stopper signed his first pro contract in 2021 and made his first-team debut against Southampton’s under-21 team in a Papa John’s Trophy at Brisbane Road.
Byrne went on to make four top-team appearances, keeping a clean sheet in all four.
Speaking to www.leytonorient.com, Byrne enthused: “It’s a massive honour for myself to sign a new contract here at the club.
“It’s another year to improve myself, and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.
“I had that taste of first-team football in the Papa John’s Trophy last season, but no one wants to stay where they are. I want to aim higher and be pushing for that first-team place.
