O’s up to second after routing Rovers

Bristol Rovers v Leyton Orient – Sky Bet League Two – The Memorial Ground – Report

Bristol Rovers 1-3 Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient moved within four points of Sky Bet League Two leaders Forest Green Rovers after seeing off Bristol Rovers by three goals to one at the Memorial Ground.

O’s got it done in the opening forty-five minutes. Harry Smith nodded home a Tom James flag-kick to open the scoring just before the twenty-minute mark. And it was 2-0 with just after half an hour played – Theo Archibald lashing home a volley from twenty yards.

Orient’s domination of the opening period continued. James again the provider – Aaron Drinan powerfully heading a third, much to the delight of the sizable following from East London.

Rovers pulled a goal back in stoppage time. Brett Pitman netting from the spot after Harvey Saunders had been felled
