Sky Bet League Two round-up

Leyton Orient 2-1 Newport County

On a poignant day when the club announced the renaming of their flagship West Stand to ‘The Justin Edinburgh Stand’, in memory of their late boss – who also managed Newport’s renaissance – the hosts recorded their first home win since last October.

But, they left it late but had County’s Ryan Haynes for putting through his own goal, on 81 minutes, sending the East Londoners on their way.
With a minute of normal time remaining, starlet, Ruel Sotiriou – who scored a spectacular header against the South Wales outfit, in the corresponding fixture at the end of December – sealed a much-needed three points, before Jamille Matt hit what proved only a 95th-minute consolation for the Exiles.

Exeter City 0-0 Colchester United

John McGreal’s high-flying U’s extended their unbeaten league run to an impressive 15 matches, after holding the promotion-pushing Grecians, on Saturday.

Despite the hosts creating the better of the chances, the Essex men held out and this point puts them in sight of the automatic promotion spots, climbing into fifth place.
