Old Southendian v Hullbridge Sports U23 – Saturday 2:30pm – Preview
Connor Lane hasn’t lost too much sleep following a surprising in-house defeat for his Old Southendian side at the hands of the clubs second-string.
The Old Boys top team when down by the odd goal in three to the reserves last weekend. However, Lane insisted preparation, minutes and fitness are the main objectives at this stage.
The Seasiders continue to warm-up ahead of the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Premier Division season with Hullbridge Sports Under 23 side the visitors to Garon Park: “It’ll be a tough fixture, just what we need,” Lane told Yellow Sport.
“Personally, when it comes to pre-season matches who wins or loses is irrelevant for me. We are trying out new players, formations and patterns of play and without a doubt so will the teams we face so it is all about our fitness and performance.
“After each pre-season match, we will evaluate the teams’ performance at training and work on what we could improve.”
