Michael Pepper and Dan Lawrence provided the standout knocks, while Shane Snater impressed with the ball as Essex continued their preparations ahead of the 2021 season with another two-day warm-up match against Lancashire at Chelmsford.
Wicketkeeper/batsman Pepper retired out having scored 40 off 81 balls, while skipper for the day, Lawrence hit a quickfire 34 from 43 before falling to a delivery from Lancashire spinner, Tom Hartley which nipped back and clipped his leg stump.
Snater claimed three Lancadshire batsmen off four deliveries, finishing the day with 3 for 8 from his five overs. Play resumes on Friday at 11am.
