Bradford City v Leyton Orient – Valley Parade – Sky Bet League Two – Saturday 3pm
Bradford City v Leyton Orient – Preview:
Peter Kitchen insisted Leyton Orient should be heading to Sky Bet League Two play-off hopefuls, Bradford City, confident and perfectly capable of bringing something back from West Yorkshire.
The O’s produced an altogether more expansive performance to dispatch Cambridge United at the Breyer Group Stadium last weekend, a result and performance which Kitchen thought proved they are turning the corner.
“The recent results have been much more encouraging and last weeks performance showed that they can play in a more positive, attacking way,” the former frontman told Yellow Sport.
“With several players returning from injuries, Ross Embleton will have plenty of selection options when he picks his team.
“As ever, how he sets his team up will be a statement of intent. It will also be a key indicator of how Ross and the team are developing and progressing.”
Kitchen continued: “The O’s must continue to build on recent form and target a mid-table finish. Bradford are only four points off the top seven places but have proved to be a bit ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ – they have been poor on the road, losing their most recent away match at Salford by two unanswered goals. However, at Valley Parade it has been a different story. The Bantams haven’t lost on their own patch since October. They will still believe a play-off place is within their grasp.
“Orient will face a side expected to come at them and play an open, attacking game.
“This game, and the midweek visit of Plymouth, will offer different challenges for Orient, but provide important markers of how far the manager and his team have come this season. It will also offer Ross and the owners an indication of the squads and where they will need to pinpoint ahead of next term.”
