Plom takes up Runwell role

RUNWELL SPORTS FOOTBALL CLUB have announced the appointment of Jason Plom as their new first-team manager.

The ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Division One outfit had endured a season of struggle towards the wrong end of the table. Nevertheless, Plom’s arrival offers fresh hope of a more successful campaign once football returns.

“We had some excellent applications for the position but from the outset, we knew exactly what we were looking for,” Chairman, Jason Emery, told Yellow Sport.

“Jason is someone driven for success and that fits with our long term plans perfectly – we are delighted that he and his coaching team are in place for the clubs next steps forward.

“We have a huge project rebuilding our new amazing new ground facilities and it was paramount we got a manager in that could deliver success on the pitch to compliment the off-field progress.”

Emery added: “We have complete faith in this appointment and are both excited and confident that we have brought in the right man.”

Meanwhile, the new man at the helm, Plom, expressed his delight on taking up the role: “Prior to accepting the role and throughout my discussions with Runwell FC, it was clear to see the ambition of the club, not only in the short term but also to build for the future,” he enthused.

“The club has a strong tradition in local football. Its an honour to be given the responsibility to continue this and to help take the club forward.

Plom is returning to the game following a short recess and admitted the challenge had to be right to tempt him back: “Having had a break from the game it was going to be something special to bring me back and it’s clear to me that Runwell Football club offers me and my management team this opportunity.

“My intentions are to nurture the talented senior players already at the club and develop, where possible, younger lads. I will also be looking to bring in some high calibre footballers who that can push us towards promotion and beyond.”

As well as the new managerial appointment, the club has recently published plans for the significant redevelopment of their Runwell Sports & Social ground with the changing areas and clubhouse receiving an exciting makeover.
