Garon Park Walking Football Club managed a win and a draw but finished with a disappointing defeat in the latest round of Essex Walking Football League fixtures which were staged at Chelmsford’s Melbourne Park.

Danny Holloway snatched a superb equaliser as Garon’s played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Billericay Town in their opening match.

And the Southend-based side followed that up with an impressive 2-1 triumph over Leyton Orient. Mike Allpress scored from long-range before Paul Wells snatched the winner.

The final match of the round proved to be the toughest as old adversaries, Eastwood Falcons grabbed the lead and then defended magnificently to clinch a 1-0 victory.

Garon Park boss, Mark Elnaugh told Yellow Sport: “A mixed bag of results with a slightly under-strength team, but points on the board at the start of a new season.”
