Corinthians 3-3 Old Southendian Reserves
Corinthians and Old Southendian Reserves were involved in a six-goal thriller as the ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Division Two points were shared at the Stambridge Memorial Ground.
The home side made a lightning start, taking the lead in the second minute thanks to Jordan Stoneham’s free-kick. However, Nico Dubouchet restored parity soon after following good work from Jack Cripps.
But Corinthians restored their earlier advantage when Leo Clarke’s exquisite chip beat Old Boys stopper, George Dugdale all ends up.
Again, the visitors hit back. Dubouchet snatching his second after Luke Stillwell had played him in.
The first-half fireworks continued – Damian Siemienczuk making it 3-2 to Corinthians ten minutes before the break.
Defences were a little more on top after the restart. Nevertheless, Old Southendian ensured a point when Thomas Margerison converted following a flag-kick from Jack Pagett.
“It was a great spectacle with both sides competing brilliantly,” Old Boys chief, Dave Manley told Yellow Sport.
I thought we played some slick football on a nice big pitch. Overall I would say a draw was a fair result.
“Andy Turner was class in the middle getting on the ball at every opportunity and Nico was clinical in front of goal.
There were a lot of positives from the game and we look forward to another battle against Leigh Town next week.”
