Police appeal after alleged racial assault in Chelmsford

Police would like to speak to this man in connection with a racially aggravated assault in Chelmsford.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was approached on Duke Street between 3.50pm and 4.10pm on Wednesday February 26.

He was verbally abused and punched by a man who was standing near to Turtle Bay.

He is described as being white, between 40 and 50 years old, and of medium build. He wore a blue baseball cap, blue jeans and sunglasses. He may have been accompanied by a white woman, who wore a cream-coloured fluffy jacket.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who can help us identify this man, is asked to call Chelmsford’s Local Policing Team on 101 and quote the crime reference number 42/31689/20.
