Police appeal after New Year’s Eve disturbance in Rochford

Police are appealing for information after reports of a disturbance in Rochford on New Year’s Eve.

Officers were called to St Clare Meadow shortly before 10pm following reports of an altercation.

Three people are believed to have suffered minor injuries.

A group of teenagers made off from the scene on foot and police are urging anyone who knows their identity, or saw the disorder, to come forward.

An 18-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of committing a public order offence, causing criminal damage to a vehicle and a property, and on suspicion of robbery.

He has since been released under investigation.
