Police appeal for witnesses to incidents in Rayleigh

Police are appealing for information about two incidents in Rayleigh.

They were called at around 4.20pm on Wednesday July 8 to reports that a 14-year-old boy had been assaulted while walking in King George’s Playing Field.

The victim suffered a cut to his lip, bruising and damage to his teeth.

The suspects, described as being aged in their 20s, left in a silver van.

Officers later received reports at around 8.10pm that a group of people had been threatened outside Bogaz restaurant in High Street

One of the suspects pulled out of a knife before leaving the scene.

There were no reported injuries.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault. They have been released on bail until August 3.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information or footage.
