Police investigate death of refuse collector

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Loughton earlier this year where a man was injured and has now died.

A refuse collector, a man in his 40s, was in a collision with a black Mercedes S350 in Alderton Hill, Loughton, shortly after 2.25pm on March 10 as he crossed the road.

He sustained a broken leg and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Following surgery he was released from hospital but died on April 20.

Police are investigating to see if there is a link between the injury he sustained and his death.

A 62 year-old man from Chingford has been questioned on suspicion of careless driving.
