Police show respect on Armed Forces Day

Police have paid tribute to fallen and serving heroes to mark Armed Forces Day.

Officers and staff have taken part in silences across Essex before they continued with their duties.

Chief Inspector Ian Hughes, District Commander for Southend, said: “It’s important to remember those who bravely fought for us and we took a few moments to do so today on Armed Forces Day.”
