Westcliff On Sea won by 140 runs
A superb knock of 107 from Jonathan Pratt was the highlight as Westcliff On Sea eased to victory in their rearranged Cook Division clash with Old Southendian & Southchurch at Garon Park.
Bright and breezy conditions were a far cry from the rainswept element which disrupted so much local league cricket 24 hours earlier. Having won the toss, Westcliff – led by Pratt – posted a competitive 222/6. Danny Pheloung chipping in with a useful 36 and Andrew Morley 34 – Joe Madren taking 3/54 for the Old Boys.
The home sides response never really materialised, with only Josh Perry (16), Chris Bunce (16) and Sean Miller (15) reaching double figures. Adil Ali produced a superb performance with the ball, taking five Old Boys wickets for just three runs from 7.3 overs at Westcliff returned to winning ways and Old Southendian suffered their second defeat in as many days.
