Randall raving over super Saints success

Southend Saints 36-29 Romford Ravens

Front-row prop, Charlotte Randall waxed lyrical of her Southend Saints side after they edged out a competitive Romford Ravens side 36-29 in their lastest warm-up fixture at Warners Bridge.

Abbie Jones scored a hat-trick of tries, while Amy Rogers went over twice and Keisha Evans once – Randall holding her nerve to kick the extras on three occasions as the host earned an exciting victory.

“It was a great game, very psychical – both teams put up a great fight,” Randall told Yellow Sport.

“There were some brilliant tries scored, awesome work both on and off the ball. Some great talent showed on both sides.”

Randall heaped praise on the Saints crowd, adding: “Huge noise from the stands at the end of the game which was always great to hear.

“It was a great afternoon and a cracking advocate for women’s rugby.”
