Colchester United v Bradford City – JobServe Community Stadium – Sky Bet League Two- Tuesday 7:45pm
Colchester United v Bradford City Preview:
Colchester United extended their unbeaten Sky Bet League Two sequence to thirteen matches with a narrow 2-1 victory over Macclesfield Town on Saturday, and Ray Crawford has urged the U’s now to take the challenge head-on and close the gap on those occupying the play-off places.
One of those sides, Bradford City, visit the JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Bantams currently sit fifth in the table but are just a point above the U’s in eighth place.
“We had to start winning again – the draws kept the unbeaten run going, but we weren’t making ground on the top teams,” Crawford told Yellow Sport.
“Macclesfield made it difficult but in truth, we should be beating these sides at home – we have, now the boy’s must hold their nerve, starting with this big game against Bradford City.
“They are a very good side but haven’t won in three – it could be a good time to meet them. I think Theo Robinson coming back from Southend, along with Tafari Moore coming in has given everyone a boost during a tricky part of the season. John McGreal has a squad capable of maintaining a challenge and with the automatic places far from out of reach, he will know that a block of league wins will see us there or thereabouts.
Crawford continued: “Colchester have played some really good football this season but now it is all about getting the three points by whatever means.
“This should prove to be a good game between two strong sides. However, it’s not always going to be pretty during the run-in. Colchester will have to dig deep, the supporters will need to be right behind them – which I’m sure they will.
