Colchester United v Grimsby Town – Sky Bet League Two – JobServe Community Stadium – Tuesday (7:45pm) – Preview

Ray Crawford insisted that Colchester United will swiftly overcome their disappointing Sky Bet League Two defeat at Harrogate Town when Grimsby Town visit the JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Despite dominating the shot count, the U’s slipped to Jack Muldoon’s stoppage-time strike to suffer their first loss under the Cowley brothers: “We should have got something from the game. It was very frustrating,” Crawford told Yellow Sport.

“To have twenty-five shots and not score is disappointing, but I’d be more worried if were not creating anything. It can be fixed, the management knows that and will be looking for a response.”

Fellow strugglers, Grimsby Town, head to south-east Essex level on points with the U’s and without a win in five: “I fully expect us to bounce back,” Crawford added.

“This is a massive game and one we are more than capable of winning.

“The supporters can see that we are turning the corner under Nicky and Danny. We were always going to lose a game at some point. Now that has happened, we can see how the players respond. In some ways, it will tell the management more about the group than the first four games.

“But I think we will bounce back on Tuesday. The supporters will turn up, back the team and I’m confident they will repay them with an important victory.”

Ray Crawford’s prediction: Colchester United 1-0 Grimsby Town

Jeevesie’s prediction: Colchester United 2-0 Grimsby Town
