Vanarama National South outfit, Billericay Town have been dealt a blow with the news that their record goalscorer, Jake Robinson will be leaving the New Lodge outfit to join Dartford.
Having started his career with Brighton & Hove Albion, Robinson netted 123 goals in 161 appearances for Billericay after arriving in 2017 – the first of two spells – for a then-record fee of £24,000 from Whitehawk. He would help the club to four trophies along the way – move to Maidstone United in December 2018, featuring eleven times for the Kent club before returning to New Lodge in March 2019.
The 34-year-old would also represent Shrewsbury Town, Torquay UInited (loan), Northampton Town and Luton Town (loan). A statement posted by the club explained:
It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Jake Robinson has decided to end his time at the club.
There are several factors in Jake’s decision and we totally understand and support his reasoning. I’m sure that Jake himself will say more himself over the coming days. The club will be paying tribute to Jake over the next couple of days.
He has been a tremendous player for this club and an ever present help with our community endeavours. He’s a fans favourite, a gentleman and we will also miss him. I’m sure that all Billericay Town fans will join us in thanking him for everything that he has done in his time with us and to wish him well for his future.
