The managing director of Rochford District Council has announced he is to retire after more than four years in the role.
Shaun Scrutton has been the MD at the council since 2016 and will step down at the end of October.
He joined Rochford District Council in 1985 and has held a number of different senior roles, including head of corporate policy. He was also head of planning and transportation for 15 years.
Mr Scrutton said “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work at Rochford. The district has, of course, changed over that time, but it remains a great place to live and work.
“Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of projects, everything from improving provision for homeless families, town centre enhancements and the airport and business park, as well as developing close and productive relationships with neighbouring authorities and strategic partners.
He added, “I’m now looking forward to a new set of opportunities and challenges.”
