Old Southendian Reserves 2-3 Rochford Town
Old Southendian Reserves were left stunned as Rochford Town staged a remarkable recovery to claim all three ProKit UK Essex Olympian League Division Two points at Garon Park.
David Stubbs gave the home side a fifteenth-minute lead from close range and the Old Boys looked on course for a second successive victory following the return of competitive football when Tom Judge bundled in just after teh half-hour mark.
But Town hit back spectacularly with Harry Ford, Alex Gray and Matt Welsh all finding the net to earn the visitors only their second victory of the campaign.
We’re disappointed with the result, we really should have been four or five up by half time had it not been for so many squandered chances,” Old Boys boss, Dave Manley told Yellow Sport.
“In the second half, we started playing the long ball which in the windy conditions just didn’t work.
“A couple more missed chances and before you know it, Rochford stole the winner. Credit to them for battling on and being more clinical in front of goal.”
