NEWLY-PROMOTED Rochford Hundred Rugby Football Club has begun a series of exciting improvements to their Magnolia Road ground.
Rochford will compete in the National Two South division once rugby returns, following their third successive title and subsequent promotion and will now feature amongst the top 72 clubs in the country with first-rate facilities after planning permission was secured on a brand new 4g artificial playing surface.
Work is already underway on impressive new match-grade floodlights, while a 100-seater grandstand is also in the pipeline as the dramatic transformation of the ground continues.
Rochford initially purchased their Magnolia Road ground in 1969 for £3,200 with building work beginning in 1971. The clubhouse was officially opened in 1974 with the hosts facing an Eastern Counties select team.
