West Ham United have confirmed the signing of versatile midfielder, Ruby Grant, on a short term deal.
Having agreed on a move from Arsenal to North Carolina Tar Heels, the 18-year old found herself training with the Hammers during the coronavirus pandemic and has put pen to paper with the east Londoners until the start of the 2020/21 US season.
Speaking to whufc.com, Grant – the sixth player to arrive at West Ham this summer – enthused: “I am extremely grateful to be here.
“To be working with the team here and with Matt is going to be really good. I’m hoping to get a lot from it and develop in the next couple of months.
“The Barclays FA WSL is a great league and it’s always be a dream of mine to play in this league. I’m hoping to get my head down, work hard, and get some good minutes under my belt.”
Meanwhile, Hammers Head Coach, Matt Beard, added: “I am delighted to welcome Ruby to West Ham United.
“Due to the pandemic, Ruby has been training with us and I have been really impressed with her. She is a technically very gifted player, who can play in all three midfield positions, and is a great addition to our group.”
