Regional 1 South East

Hertford v Rochford Hundred – Hoe Lane

Rochford Hundred will aim to claw themselves away from the relegation zone over the coming months, starting at Hertford on Saturday.

In a well-contested match, Rochford saw off local rivals Westcliff in the last fixture before the Christmas break, moving them within touching distance of Bedford Athletic and this weekend’s opponents, while cutting Westcliff adrift at the bottom.

Hertford returned to winning ways by beating HUEL Tring last time out, ending a run of three without a victory, but including a, 18-18 draw with Harpenden.

Bedford Athletic v Westcliff – Putnoe Woods

Despite a series of battling performances, Westcliff find themselves at the foot of the table and facing a huge task to haul themselves clear of relegation.

Nevertheless, the Gables-based outfit won’t throw in the towel and will head to third-bottom Bedford Athletic keen to put on a show and give themselves a fighting chance.

Regional 2 Anglia of London & SE

Southend Saxons v Saffron Waldon – Warners Bridge

Table-topping Southend Saxons head into Saturday’s encounter with Saffron Waldon searching for their thirteenth victory on the bounce as they hone in on the Regional 2 Anglia of London & SE.

Ahead of the festive break, the Saxons extended their lead at the summit to nine points with a 29-3 success over Thurrock.

Saffron Walden are currently next to bottom with three wins and ten defeats from their thirteen matches so far.

Thurrock v Norwich – Oakfield

Thurrock entertains bottom-of-the-table Norwich looking to record their ninth win of the campaign and make ground on the top four.

The hosts were beaten at Southend last time out, but have otherwise displayed credentials suggesting they can challenge amongst the division’s elite.

Norwick heads to Essex with just two wins to their name but will be determined to show significant improvement during the second half of the campaign.
