Regional 1 South East

Westcliff v Rochford Hundred – The Gables (3pm)

No Essex derby has been more compelling in recent years than that between Westcliff and Rochford, who meet at Cherry Orchard Business Park on Saturday.

Over the past two seasons, these derbies took place at Level four, often attracting over 700 spectators and, despite both clubs’ relegation at the end of last season the crowd will still be expected to be the largest in the division by some way.

Home advantage prevailed during 2021-22 with one win each, while last season Rochford edged both matches when on another day Westcliff might have enjoyed better fortune.

Both sides lost last week, Westcliff to Old Northamptonians, while Rochford went down to Tring. Both sides will be eager to bounce back and gain bragging rights. Both clubs will be welcoming back absentees from last week’s matches and the atmosphere will be electric.

Rochford Head Coach, Danny Cleare, told Yellow Sport: “We are looking forward to a massive derby day against Westcliff on Saturday.

“It’s the perfect fixture after last week’s disappointing result and I’m sure we can bounce back if we play to our potential. But we know Westcliff are a very dangerous side and anything can happen in a derby.”

Regional 2 Anglia of London & SE

Thurrock v Southend Saxons – Oakfield (3pm)

Fifth plays sixth when Thurrock and Southend Saxons go head-to-head at Oakfield.

Thurrock, in sixth, was edged out 30-27 by Saffron Walden last weekend, while the Saxons thrashed Holt 63-5 at Warners Bridge as they returned to winning ways following an opening-day setback at Woodford.
