Southend Saints 36-7 Dart Valley
SOUTHEND SAINTS warmed up for the return of the Eastern Counties Women’s Merit League with a resounding victory over Dart Valley in a friendly match staged at the Seasiders Warners Bridge ground.
The Saints swiftly got back into the swing of things, scoring six tries as they overwhelmed the plucky Kent outfit, with Cat Malcolm crossed the line twice.
Speaking to Yellow Sport after the match, Head Coach, Paul Bach, enthused: “We played some smashing rugby – indeed, some of the best from this group to date.
“Cat scored a couple of tries, but there was a notable performance all over the pitch, with Maude Dowdeswell and Emma Connor particularly standing out.
“It was a terrific all-round team performance, particularly after such a long lay-off over the festive period.”
