Dartford Valley 5-10 Southend Saints

PAUL BACH was delighted with his Southend Saints side after overseeing a useful friendly match victory over Dartford Valley.

Shelby Gilson and Kirsty Flynn crossed the line for the Seasiders, confirming their winning habit continued. Notably, due to injury and unavailability, the Saints travelled across the river with only fourteen players.

Head Coach, Bach, handed several players a debut, with Alex Alvarez producing an outstanding display amongst the forwards in her first start.

Speaking to Yellow Sport after the match, Bach enthused: “Injuries and work commitments took its toll, but it allowed me to get game time for several squad members.

“They played with commitment and the same tempo we have installed in this team. There were some outstanding performances especially from Alex (Alvarez).

“Only a last-minute try preventing a third clean sheet. This is an amazing group of players – I’m confident they can go far.”
