Sanchez sinks Hornets with last-gasp winner

Watford v Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – Vicarage Road – Report

Watford 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Davinson Sanchez nodded a last-gasp winner to keep Tottenham Hotspur’s momentum under Antonio Conte in full swing.

The Lilywhites dominated throughout against a dogged Watford side that had suffered five successive defeats as well as a serious COVID issue in the camp in recent weeks.

However, Watford’s resolve was broken in the sixth minute of stoppage time when Sanchez reacted swiftly to head a Heung-Min Son cross beyond the stranded Bachmann in the Hornets goal.

Tottenham Hotspur now turn their attention to the Carabao Cup where they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a semi-final first-leg tie on Wednesday, January 5 (7:45pm).
