Southend Saxons staged a remarkable recovery, overturning a fifteen-point deficit to see off high-flying Eton Manor in a dramatic London One North encounter at Warners Bridge.

The home side started sluggishly, conceding a series of penalties, but managed to claw their way back with skipper, Matthew Wagstaff and Tom Day crossing over before the interval – Jack MacVeigh adding the extras.

Tries from Callum Smith and MacVeigh turned the contest on its head. While Tom Ramsey also chipped in, much to the delight of the sizable seaside crowd. The victory lifted the Saxons into sixth place.
