Scopes aware of the challenge ahead for Beach Boys

Concord Rangers v Potters Bar Town – Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round – Aspect Arena – Preview

Danny Scopes insisted his Concord Rangers side were as ready as they possibly could be ahead of their first competitive outing since defeating Halesowen Town in a dramatic FA Trophy semi-final last month.

The Beach Boys take on Isthmian League Premier Division outfit, Potters Bar Town in an Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round tie at the Aspect Arena and Scopes is looking forward to football with an edge, despite the most important commodity – the fans – still unable to attend the fixture.

“It’s going to be a tough start, but we are all excited to get back into competitive action,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.

“It’s a big challenge. We have to have the right mindset. We have to make sure we are still in the competition when our supporters can come back.

“I’m pleased with the efforts of the squad during what has been an unusual pre-season for all of us. But now we must look forward to the season and the challenges it will bring.”

Scopes could include left-sided defender, Tom Hanfrey after the former AFC Bournemouth man put pen to paper on a deal with the Canvey-based club earlier this week.
