Scopes backs Beach Boys fans to be the twelfth-man

Concord Rangers v Bath City – Vanarama National League South – Aspect Arena – Tuesday 7:45pm – Preview

Danny Scopes has urged his Concord Rangers side to ‘give it their lot’ as fans return to the Aspect Arena for Tuesday’s huge Vanarama National League South clash with fellow strugglers, Bath City.

The Beach Boys are currently one place off the bottom and without a win in six league outings. Nevertheless, the Beach Boys boss believes the supporters will provide a boost for his charges as they look to scramble away from the foot of the table.

“It’s quite simple, we need to take responsibility for our performances,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.

“We have no excuses. The fans are back which will give us a huge lift. We need a big crowd, up to COVID-capacity, who I’m sure will make plenty of noise and be our twelfth-man. In response, we need to make our ground a tough place to come, both on and off the pitch. Make sure we don’t give teams anything for free.

Scopes continued: “We want to give the supporters something to be proud of – play for the shirt – play for them.

“The boys need to ‘empty the tank’ and give it everything we have for the football club starting tomorrow.”
