Billericay Town 0-1 Concord Rangers – Reaction
Danny Scopes was satisfied with what he saw from his Concord Rangers side as they produced a resolute performance to earn a derby success over Billericay Town at New Lodge.
Cambridge United loanee, Lewis Simper earned the Beach Boys a single goal success with a cute second-half strike, while Town had Luke Wanadio dismissed in stoppage-time following a clash with Temi Babalola.
The results moved Concordabove Billericay in the Vanarama National League table and further clear of the dropzone.
“I’m pleased with the result and performance,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.
“Of course we are happy, going to a big club like Billericay and getting a win.
“They should be pushing towards the top with the squad they have.
“Also, after not playing for a fortnight over Christmas, I thought we were disciplined defensively as a group. This was highlighted with our first clean sheet to go on top of the victory.”
Scopes added: “We have given ourselves something to build on over the past few league games. We go to Hampton & Richmond Borough next week believing we have a chance if we take it to them.”
