Scopes focused on Essex derby success

Braintree Town v Concord Rangers – Vanarama National League South – Cressing Road – Tuesday 7:45pm – Preview

Danny Scopes stressed the importance of his Concord rangers side backing up recent results with a three-point haul at bottom of the table Braintree Town at Cressing Road.

A resounding Vanarama National League victory at Dulwich Hamlet was followed by a useful share of the spoils with Welling United. However, against a Braintree outfit propping up the table, without a point to their name Scopes will be looking for further daylight to be cast between his charges and the dropzone.

“It’s a big game for us, we need to keep the unbeaten run going,” the Beach Boys boss told Yellow Sport.

“We should be fresh having sat out on Saturday. We trained well and have a full squad to select from. The ball is in our court to do what is required and get the result.”

Braintree parted company with manager, George Borg, following a torrid start to the campaign and Scopes recognised the Iron will take up the mantle of the proverbial ‘wounded animal’ on Tuesday evening.

“They haven’t made the best of starts but will be hurting and desperate to get off the mark. We have to be ready and turn up equipped for a battle.”
