Scopes insists Beach Boys are ready for the hectic challenge ahead

Maidstone United v Concord Rangers – Vanarama National League South – Gallacher Stadium – Saturday 3pm – Preview

Danny Scopes believes his Concord Rangers side are ready for a challenging period which will see them play ten matches in a five-week period.

Heading that particular sequence is a tricky trip to the Gallacher Stadium, where the Beach Boys will face a Maidstone United side keen to mount a serious promotion challenge following a two-year exile from the top division.

“We have plenty to think about over the coming weeks,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.

“We have what I would call a positive disappointment within the groups after we’ve only picked up one point from our opening two matches. Particularly as we felt we were in control on both occasions.

“Maidstone have excellent resources and a very good squad. The challenge is there for us – it will be extremely tough.”

“But we head there looking to get over the line and come away with something. Give ourselves something to take into the next game, show that we are progressing as a team.”

Scopes didn’t rule out additions to his squad ahead of the trip over the river: “Hopefully, we’ll announce one or two before the weekend. We need to bolster the group, particularly with the games coming thick and fast.”
