Scopes looking forward to the Beach Boys return

Billericay Town v Concord Rangers – Vanarama National League South – New Lodge – Saturday 3pm – Preview

It has been a frustrating festive period for Danny Scopes and Concord Rangers. A waterlogged pitch at the Aspect Arena coupled with COVID cases at Chelsmford City led to postponement at a time where the Beach Boys appeared to be getting it together in the National League South.

Nevertheless, Scopes insisted that the squad has used the time to good effect and they are ready for Saturday’s New Lodge clash with a Billericay side themselves on the up after an indifferent start to the season.

“It was a big frustration for us as a group not being able to play over the festive period- we are just looking forward to getting a game played,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.

“But we have been in and trained hard over the Christmas period to keep ticking over. The lads have worked hard and are keen to build on the four points from six taken before the postponements.

“We want to make a positive start to the year. Billericay have only lost one of their last five, but we can go above them with a win. The incentive is there.”

Scopes have almost a full complement to select from and could hand a start to Jayden Randell the former Heybridge Swifts defender brought in from Wealdstone on a permanent deal.
