DANNY SCOPES has continued shaping his Concord Rangers squad with two players putting pen to paper at the Aspect Arena and two parting company with the Canvey-based club.
Midfielder Tosan Popo has linked up with the Beach Boys for a second spell following a period with fellow Vanarama National League South outfit, Hemel Hampstead Town, while central defender, Ryan Scott, has agreed on a new deal after initially arriving last season from East Thurrock United.
“I worked closely with Tosan when he was here before, and enjoyed watching him play,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.
“He’s a versatile footballer – hard-working and is a great addition for us.”
The Concord chief was equally enthusiastic to secure the signature of Scott, adding: “I’m really pleased Ryan is with us.
We chased him at the start of last season but he stayed at East Thurrock which we respected. But we managed to get him toward the end of the season and he made a good impression.
“I believe he will add a threat attacking the box as well as providing what we require as a solid defender.”
Hading out of the Aspect Arena is frontman Joel Nouble and defender, Jack Cawley.
“We appreciate the efforts of both players,” Scopes added.
“We didn’t get to use Joel as much during the second half of the season due to injuries. He’s keen to push into full-time football and believes a move away will help him achieve that.
“It’s a shame to see him go, but we can’t force people to stay and wish him well.”
On Cawley, Scopes explained: “Sometimes you have to make tough decisions – not resigning Jack was one of them. Again, we wish Jack all the best also at his next club.”
