Scopes supportive of Church progression

CONCORD RANGERS boss, Danny Scopes, heaped praise on Nathan Church who has stepped back from his backroom position at the Aspect Arena to complete his coaching badges.

Church assisted with the coaching at the Canvey-based club and will remain with the Beach Boys in a scouting role.

“Nathan was excellent for us last year. The players love him, which is the biggest challenge. He added some really good attention to detail – that will be missed,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.

“Nathan wants to develop as a coach and believes this route gives him time to train and the possibility to continue playing while he is still young enough.

We will be helping him every step of the way behind the scenes. He will always be welcome at the Aspect Arena as a part of my group.”

Meanwhile, speaking to www.concordrangers.com, Church added: “I still want to do my bit as much as I can, so I had a good chat with Scopesy and we decided that would be where I could hopefully have an impact.

“I enjoy watching other games in the area, and that way it will allow me to stay involved to some extent whilst I focus on my next coaching badge.”
