Colchester United v Newport County – Sky Bet League Two – JobServe Community Stadium – Report
Colchester United 1-1 Newport County
Freddie Sears struck twelve minutes from time to rescue a share of the Sky Bet League Two spoils for Colchester United against play-off contenders, New port County at the JobServe Community Stadium.
The former West Ham United man fired home, left-footed after Alan Judge had fashioned an opening, with the U’s only shot on target of the evening.
The home side had trailed to Dominic Telford’s first-half opener for Newport. However, Colchester picked up their fourth point of an otherwise satisfactory week, following Tuesday’s impressive 3-1 victory over Exeter City, to move eight clear of the dropzone.
Colchester United face a trip to Swindon Town in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday, November 30 (7:45pm). The U’s then turn their attention to the Emirates FA Cup where they take on Wigan Athletic at the Jobserve Community Stadium on Sunday, December 5 (12:30pm)
